Riddle me this...

I have loved the Olsen twins since the Full House days (I may have also been a long-standing member of their fan club and can still quote every line to their cheezy movies. just sayin.), but...

Someone explain to me how two girls who dress like this...

(except for those yellow shoes in the pic above...those can stay)

can design such beautiful clothes that look like this....

smart girls. still a member of their fan club.

Wishlist Wednesday: Bikinis

It's almost APRIL, and yet the cold weather is not showing any signs of leaving Chicago anytime soon.  I still have a month and half until my toes are in the sand, but beach attire seems to be on my brain year round. For today: bikinis! (also hoping this doubles as motivation to get my tush to the gym and shut my pie hole).

I'm sure my body will look just like these girls by the time I get to Sanibel too? And if not....

...well, that's what cute cover-ups are for!

Cranky McCranky pants.

These posters are everywhere and I love them. (although I must say I love the humorous versions like this a little more... )

anyways.... I am extremely stressed out this morning, so I thought it would be a good mantra to keep in my head today.

And when I found this gem...

it brought a little tear to my eye, because all this work will be worth it.
(and also because that will be so cute in my bathroom).

nude.

I would wear a dress every single day if I could.  For some reason I am terrified to wear a nude dress, but I think they are so darn pretty.

Wishlist Wednesday

I once heard a wise woman say...
"I like my money right where I can see it: hanging in my closet"

- Carrie Bradshaw

If I lived in Sex and The City land, where someone is paid so little that she complains she can't afford to pay rent - yet can afford the most expensive designer clothing and accessories and never wears the same outfit twice - I would hope my closet would look a little something like these.

sigh.

Crack Cake.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

For our celebration last Saturday, I made two delicious green cakes for our party. I am no Ina Garten... but I could fool anyone (and have) into thinking I am a great baker with this cake. This is my number one easy dessert and I have made it dozens of times.  It is so moist, so sugary, so unbelievably delicious and I am so so happy I found it months ago on the wonderful blog Madaket Market - she has some amazing recipes and entertaining tips!

I seriously don't even like cake that much - but this cake has made me change my mind! It has gotten the name "crack cake" by my friends, but MacKenzie calls it Mama Trish's Wine Cake (it has white wine in the cake & the glaze - what's not to love?).

Crack Cake via Madaket Market
  her pretty photo.

1 box Duncan Hines yellow cake mix
1/4 c brown sugar
1/4 c white sugar
1 box vanilla pudding instant mix
2 teaspoons cinnamon
4 eggs
3/4 c water
3/4 c oil
1/2 c white wine (really any kind)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix the above ingredients by hand or hand mixer.
normal cake batter....
st. patty's day cake batter!

Grease a bundt pan.
Pour into pan.
"st. patrick's day boobies" as they were affectionately called..

Bake for one hour.

When cake comes out of the oven...

Melt 1 stick butter into 1 cup sugar and 1/4 cup wine.
Pour over hot cake.
Cool.
Flip out of pan onto plate and serve.

I know it looks like an ugly hunk of green... but trust me. it is bomb diggity.

As Ina would say, "How easy is that??".

bachelor brad finally gets it right.... then messes up. again.

Mr. "Most Hated Man in America" as he was called after his first Bachelor run (which I honestly never understood - he didn't pick the skanky cheerleader or the angry face Deanna.... I don't blame him) finally got it right this time and picked the gorgeous, sweet, insanely perfect Emily from Charlotte.

In my opinion, Brad has sounded like a total dumbass for the majority of this season.  I'm sure he is incredibly intelligent, but the boy had some serious difficulties even getting a sentence out a lot of the time. But then I thought about it... and realized he was looking at this:

I take back what I said before.... I don't blame him for sounding like a dumbass.  I would stammer too if I were looking at someone that pretty.

Anyways.... somehow he was able to get it together tonight and he said some seriously sweet things.... "Let me catch my breath you look beautiful... it's not the first time you've taken my breath away.  I've always believed that when the time was right, I would find the woman I've been looking for my entire life.  You're the one.  You're it.  You're my once in a lifetime. ".... and many more sweet things followed by "Please make me happier than I've ever been and marry me."

All together now "awwwwww".  And then you add in this Neil Lane sparkler...

What could possibly go wrong??

.....But then, Brad becomes an idiot once again.... even though Emily looks EVEN BETTER if that was humanly possible...

The wedding is currently postponed... Brad has a "volatile temper".... they love eachother and hope to get married.... blah de blah.  I really want them to work, but if not, I say on to the next Emily.... because judging by the insane amount of text messages between multiple friends last night about how in love with you we are, I'm guessing any man would feel the same.

PS. Thoughts on Ashley as the new Bachelorette? Starts My 23rd.
