Crazy. Stupid. Love.

The past week was filled with packing boxes and helping the bf move... and starting this weekend he has to help me build furniture, hang things, set up TV's, etc.  So as a break I'm thinking we'll go to dinner + a movie!
 via
Any kind of movie that looks like a sappy-cheezy-chick-flick is on my must see list....  But a movie that looks like the sappy-cheeze-fest is masked by male comedic humor (so there is the possibility of convincing a boy to escort me to said movie) makes it that much better.  Rarely are there movies my boyfriend and I agree on other than old movies & anything Christmas related, as he thinks the only things that interest me are "reality tv shows with crazy bitch's" or "the cheesiest, most unrealistic romantic movies" ever made.
DUH.
This isn't exactly on his list of movies to see... but I sweat my ass off, moved boxes, and vacuumed like crazy - so I think I can swing it.
Anyone else think this movie looks so good?
Ryan Gosling = hot and shirtless.
Emma Stone = adorable. total girl crush.
Steve Carrel = hilarious.
Sounds like a perfect movie combo to me!

If not... Friends with Benefits it is
 via
chick-flick for me, naked Mila Kunis and humor for him?

Have a great weekend :)
and don't forget to set the DVR for tomorrow nights Nick & Vanessa's Wedding special!

Wishlist Wednesday

Lusts for the week....

This perfect lace dress that I saw via Glitter Guide on Pinterest

The Coach + Net-A-Porter collaboration that brings back the classic Coach purses

This adorable striped bikini from Anna Kosturova
(couldn't get a larger individual pic)

This Tibi Marbled Dress ... I'm drooling...

And finally,
This dress that I also have on the short list to wear to one of my bestie's engagement parties.
I tried it on yesterday and it fit like a dream. I may be heading down the street to get it later today...living 1 block from Anthropologie has it's downfalls....

Healthy Stuffed Shells

I got this cookbook a couple years ago, and have made several yummy (and healthy!) recipes over the years from it.  On Sunday, I made the Stuffed Shells for my boyfriend for dinner.

They were delicious! I'm certainly not going to act like they are better than stuffed shells from an Italian restaurant with cream & extra fatty cheese, but it definitely filled my need for a cheesy pasta dish!

Stuffed Shells Florentine
I know... my iPhone food photography is so amazing.

12 ounces jumbo shells (about 30 shells)
2 cups low fat marinara sauce *I used more so it wouldn't dry out
1 package frozen spinach (10 ounces), thawed and squeezed dry
3 cups fat free ricotta cheese (24 ounces)
1/2 cup freshly grated parmesean (2 ounces)
3 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
1/2 cup shredded reduced fat mozzarella cheese (2 ounces)

Cook the Shells according to the package directions. Drain.
Meanwhile, preheat oven to 375.  Spread 1/2 cup of the marinara sauce over the bottom of a 13x9 baking dish  (I added more).
In a large bowl, combine the spinach, ricotta, parmesan, basil, flour, garlic, and fennel seeds. Mix well. Spoon some of the filling into each shell.  Place the shells, filling side up, in the baking dish.
my bf insists on adding ingredients to recipes, so his shells with jalapenos, hot sauce, and olives are on the left

Spoon the remaining sauce over the shells, and top with the mozzarella.  Cover loosely with foil and bake for 30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the filling is hot.

Plop yourself on the couch, try your best to negotiate a unisex TV show instead of another episode of that Deep Sea Fishing Show or Swamp People, and enjoy :)

Monogram Monday

Hope you all had a great weekend :)

I have a small dining table (that has been used all of 3 times in 2 years...) and I bought these Ikea Chairs to go with it,
i know... ew. but hey, they were cheap.

but would love if I could spice up the boring chairs a bit.  I love the idea of getting monogrammed slipcovers to put over them - it would be like a whole new table!

hope you all had a great weekend :)

TGIF.

SO happy it is Friday!!!
I woke up to an e-mail from Rent The Runway saying I have a free surprise dress arriving at my doorstep today :)  10 bucks I hate it or it is way too fancy for me to wear this weekend... but if so, I will wear it with slippers all around my apartment and return it on Monday! Seriously love RTR.

Some brief Friday coffee talk:
As we know, Nick Lachey & Vanessa Minnillo got married and are on their honeymoon...

but I was very surprised to learn that they are airing a special on TLC about their wedding planning and wedding day.  They seem like a great couple and everything, and he is adorable (and is a fellow Miami of Ohio Alum!), but after Jessica Simpson I would think he would leave the cameras behind?? I always felt like the show led to their relationship crumbling.

Obviously, I will be watching.  It airs July 30th on TLC at 8!

My apologies for all of the random posts this week... it's been a long, and extremely HOT week in Chicago!
Big furniture delivery today! I'm excited :)

Fat Food Made Healthy

the week of random sporatic posts continues....
bear with me...

I have been loving Rocco DiSpirito's "Rocco's Dinner Party" on Bravo for a couple of weeks now....he seems like a bit of an ass, but I kind of like jerks on my TV when they're pretty so I guess it works.

I recently caught a clip of him on TV promoting his "Now Eat This" Cookbooks, and his follow up "Now Eat This Diet".

He takes fatty, yummy favorites and turns them into dishes with 350 calories or less.  A man after my own heart.
I mean seriously though.... look at his facial expressions in both of these pictures... he thinks he is the sexiest man ever and is trying to eye (f-bomb) all of us.  Yet I still want to order the books, so I guess it works?

The week went so well with Mama Nance Pants, except last night I couldn't sleep because I realized I ordered a Full bed & Headboard and maybe I can squeeze a Queen in..... and I have always wanted a bigger bed.... and is it worth it to have it be a little tight now, when eventually maybe I'll have a bigger room??..... and then it would be silly to have the Full.... and blah de blah de blah.

So excuse me while I run around with my tape-measurer and head back to two separate stores to try to change orders and replace furniture that is being delivered tomorrow.  I'm such a mess.....

Wishlist Wednesday

Since I have started dreaming about how I would decorate my apartment, I have had one item that has reined above all of the others.  It isn't something I'll use everyday like a sofa... or even trying to figure out how many monogrammed items I can squeeze into one place....

But I think it is an incredibly important item for a twenty something to have...especially a lush like me....The Bar.

I have drooled over images of bar carts for months.... found gorgeous trays and bars in stores only to realize they are definitely not in my budget.

Yesterday.... I found one!!! Annnnnd of course I forgot to take a picture of it....whoops. But it was the best find of the week so far!!! (my mother may have been frightened at how much I freaked out over a drinking related item... but secretly I think she was thrilled with the find as well).  Can't wait to show you when the beauty arrives!

The hunt continues....

After an exhausting but really fun day with Mama Nance Pants yesterday.... the apartment hunt continues today.  Luckily almost all of the stores here are clearing out all of their floor samples to make room for their fall merchandise, so we have gotten some incredible deals.

Two of the best purchases from yesterday:

This gorgeous headboard

And this floor lamp

I seriously feel like I robbed West Elm & Pottery Barn with the deals we found.  Nance knows how to sniff out the good stuff.

posting may be rando this week... just have so much to do!

Perfect timing since I needed things for the new apartment!

My mom flew to Chicago yesterday,
so we are off to do some more apartment shopping!

and I've already gotten her to fall in love with this
with either
or

Hopefully we can get some big things checked off the list this week!
Hope everyone had a good weekend :)

Mr. Pooh

Yes... you read that title correctly.
This is a post dedicated to Mr. Pooh.
[it's friday... i'm tired... whatever]

The cutest man alive.  Who spent a lot of time in my childhood bedroom.

The Winnie the Pooh movie commercial keeps coming on... and I'm obsessed with the song in it. It has not left my head all week.

So I leave you with Winnie the Pooh's wise, kind words for the weekend:

“If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together, there is something you must always remember.
You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
But the most important thing is, even if we're apart,
I'll always be with you.

if that doesn't bring a tear to your eye, you have a heart of ice.
orrrrr you just aren't like me in that everything makes me cry.

I'm off finding a sofa for my apartment with my shmancy designer friend and then heading to a "working lunch" where we will most likely gossip and eat our body weight in guacamole.

I'm angry pants.

ummm..... what????
are you crazy!?!?

Glee people are saying that Lea Michelle, Chris Colfer, and Corey Monteith will be leaving Glee after the third season.  How can you possibly have Glee without Lea Michelle??? Answer: you can't.

They say that they want to be "realistic" and that people can't be in high school for 6 years... that it just doesn't make sense.

Exhibit A:
Pretty sure they were in high school for much more than 4 years.

I would have watched Zack Morris and Kelly Kapowski on Saved By The Bell until they were 35 - I don't care if senior year lasts a lifetime people!!
And I know that you all agree.

I mean..... just look how well he ages?

DAMN Mark Paul!! You've still got it.
like... wow. you've really still got it.
Sorry.... what were we talking about?

Oh, yeah.... I'm pissed.

Good think I have about 897 other shows to watch when I stop watching Glee....

Coffee Talk

talk amongst yourselves....

I watched the first episode of the new VH1 reality show
Famous Food
 via

with Heidi Montag, Danielle from RHONJ, Jake Pavelka from The Bachelor,
and other non-mentionable losers,
annnnnd it sucked.
I will watch just about anything.... literally, anything.
I wanted to pull my eyeballs out.
Do not bother watching it. Trust me.

Gwynnie was all over Sardinia flaunting her bikini bod

Kate Hudson had her baby with her baby-daddy.
No name has been decided yet.

I love her in the movies, and this she is adorable, but in real life she just seems like a desperate serial dater.  Fingers crossed this relationship works for her, because I think her son Ryder has probably called about 15 different celebrities "dad?" before.

Victoria Beckham had her first girl!
She named her Harper Seven.

I will never understand celebrities and their weird way of naming their kids. Seven?? Because she was born in the 7th month, in the 7th hour, and David's jersey is #7.  Stick to normal names people.
I'm so jealous of this childs future wardrobe it isn't even funny. Although, I guess she will have to be a size 00 to get to wear any of the clothes.  Atleast bags + shoes aren't off the table...

Am I the only one who has been very bored with RHONJ lately?
I feel like the last 3 episodes I have yawned uncontrollably through them?
 via

Even Joe is a sparkly, lady-unitard barely made me blink this week.

Miranda Kerr has proclaimed that she "thought she was going to die" because childbirth was so extremely painful.

As a happily baby-less 25 year old, these comments upset me greatly because they make me want to never have children in the future.  Stick to modeling and don't scare the rest of us Miranda.

Monogram Monday

I saw these Boulevard bags and Wallets in a boutique last weekend.
I fell in love with a navy leather wallet only realize that
they weren't just everyday wallets.... they were monogrammed.

Hallelujah.

That wallet has my name all over it.
They have a bunch more colors + options on their website!
